Technical parameters of glass wool insulation board
The thermal performance parameters of glass wool board are one of its core characteristics. Its thermal conductivity is usually 0.035-0.042 W/m · K at room temperature, and some high-performance products can even reach 0.035 W/m · K. This means that it has excellent thermal insulation ability and can effectively reduce heat transfer. The temperature range for use is from -120 ℃ to 500 ℃, and the centrifugal glass wool board can reach up to 600 ℃, allowing it to function stably even in extreme temperature environments. Meanwhile, according to different thicknesses and densities, glass wool boards can provide corresponding thermal resistance values to meet various insulation needs.

Mechanical performance parameters are equally crucial. The density range of glass wool board is wide, ranging from 10-120 kg/m ³, while conventional building materials are mostly 24-48 kg/m ³. This density design not only ensures the lightweight of the material, but also has a certain strength. The thickness specification is generally 3-10 centimeters (30-100mm), and the standard size is 1200 × 600mm, which can also be customized according to actual needs. In terms of compressive strength, a board with a density of 32kg/m ³ has a compressive strength of ≥ 20kPa and a tensile strength perpendicular to the board surface of ≥ 15kPa, which can withstand certain external forces without being easily damaged.

Fire safety parameters are a major highlight of glass wool boards. It belongs to Class A non combustible materials and meets the GB8624 standard. Its maximum fire resistance temperature can reach 500 ℃, providing reliable fire protection for buildings and industrial equipment. It can effectively prevent the spread of fire in dangerous situations such as fires.
In terms of acoustic performance, glass wool board performs excellently. The sound absorption coefficient of 20mm thick board in the frequency range of 125-4000Hz can reach 0.8 or above, and the noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of high capacity products can reach 0.85 or above. It can effectively absorb and reduce noise, improve working and living environments, and is widely used in sound absorption and noise reduction scenarios such as indoor partitions, ceilings, and air conditioning ducts.
Durability parameters cannot be ignored either. Glass wool board has a hydrophobicity rate of ≥ 98%, and special treatment products can even reach 99%. It has a low water absorption rate, with a 24-hour water absorption of ≤ 500 g/m ², and good dimensional stability. It is not easily deformed in environments with temperature and humidity changes, ensuring long-term use. Its low water absorption characteristic allows it to maintain stable performance even in humid environments.
